Volunteer Architectural Assistant Vacancy

Article 25 is the UK's leading humanitarian architecture NGO. We design and deliver resilient schools, hospitals and housing around the world, working closely with under-resourced communities in remote and climate-challenging regions to create buildings that are safe, sustainable and community-led.

We are now welcoming applications from Volunteer Architectural Assistants to join our expert design teams.

This is a unique opportunity to develop your professional skills in humanitarian architecture while contributing to projects that make a tangible, lasting difference in some of the world's most underserved communities.

What you'll be doing

  • Working alongside experienced architects on live international projects across health, education and housing programmes

  • Preparing and developing drawings, models and presentations to a professional standard

  • Contributing ideas and presenting your thinking within collaborative team settings

  • Supporting project delivery from early design stages through to technical development

Who we're looking for

  • Students who have achieved RIBA Part 1 or Part 2 (or equivalent), but have not yet qualified as architects

  • Individuals able to commit to a minimum of 6 months, with the option to extend to 12 months

  • Strong design and software skills, including AutoCAD, SketchUp and the Adobe Suite

  • Applicants who already have the right to volunteer in the UK

We cover travel expenses to our Canary Wharf office for all volunteers.
