NextGen event: Back to the Drawing Board

An exhibition-style evening, Back to the Drawing Board brought together architects, designers, and young professionals from Article 25’s More Than a Building network for inspiring displays and conversations at the Shoreditch Arts Club, proudly sponsored by BGY.

The evening was an interactive event featuring a series of presentations from the following companies:

BGY - Buckley Gray Yeoman is a multi-award-winning architecture and design practice delivering thoughtful, sustainable projects across the UK and Europe. They will be exhibiting Broadgate Tower, Fresh Wharf and the Truman Brewery Masterplan, showcasing their approach to sustainability and social justice through retrofitting landmark offices, creating net-zero aligned workplaces, and regenerating historic buildings into inclusive, mixed-use community spaces.

Rolton - Rolton is an award-winning UK multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy specialising in sustainable, innovative design across the built environment. Their talk will explore how sustainability and building regulations have evolved since 1985, how Rolton advises clients on transitioning to net-zero, and a walkthrough of the Heyford Park Masterplan - an energy strategy aiming to create the UK’s first renewable-energy-surplus town.

Bennetts Associates - Bennetts Associates is a leading UK architecture practice known for its sustainable, low-carbon design approach across cultural, workplace, education and civic projects. They will be showcasing a selection of their key projects and design strategies.

Opus Magnum - Opus Magnum is a London-based bespoke furniture and joinery studio, creating engineered fittings for large-scale commercial spaces. They will showcase new pieces and explain how their designs integrate seamlessly with architecture, materials and functional requirements.

Hunters Architect x Knight Harwood x UHA - This collaborative session with Hunters, Knight Harwood and UHA will explore education and social justice in architecture. Through mini-talks and case studies such as Mentor–Mentees, the practices will share insights on future skills, bridging education and practice, and shaping the profession through collaboration - encouraging participants to reflect on and rethink the future of architecture.
