Article 25 enjoyed a successful few days as the official charity partner of Clerkenwell Design Week. Thousands of people flocked to one of the UK’s leading design festivals between 19th and 21st May where Article 25 held a strong presence in the event programme.
We worked in collaboration with our friends at Scandinavian Business Seating and design duo Russ+Henshaw to present Agora on the Green, an installation that invited members of the public to enjoy a new gathering and socialising space on Clerkenwell Green with the intention of promoting the long-term regeneration of a forgotten part of London. The installation was a representation of our mission to revitalise vulnerable communities through the construction of buildings that provide essential services, and Article 25 representatives were on hand to engage with the public about the collaboration and our wider work. Despite the challenging weather the crowds were still out in good force and we thoroughly enjoyed introducing Article 25 to a new audience.
The week culminated in a fantastic fundraising party held at Scandinavian Business Seating’s Clerkenwell showroom, where our branding guru Steve Edge was on brilliant form to auction off an array of design pieces and raise funds for our Nepal reconstruction appeal. Items auctioned off included prints from the Arcaid Images Architectural Photography awards 2014, kindly donated by Arcade and Sto, and a designer chair from the set of the new Spooks movie, starring Kit Harrington. The auction raised £1,750 for the appeal, so thank you to everyone who came along for contributing to such a fun and vibrant evening. We hope to see you all next year.
