ARCHITECTURAL ASSISTANT (VOLUNTEER)
LOCATION: LONDON OFFICE
Article 25 is the world’s largest architectural charity. Our focus lies on designing and building structures that improve health, learning and disaster resilience. We are currently looking for an Architectural Assistant to support our Architects with our ongoing projects.
We are currently seeking a motivated Volunteer Architectural Assistant with a passion for international development to provide assistance to the design teams. The role may provide opportunities to travel to project locations depending on experience and the project. This is an incredible learning opportunity for keen and energetic individuals who are looking for valuable experience and wish to work in this field, not to mention a chance to work with our dynamic, innovative and expanding charity.

Current project locations include Myanmar, Haiti, Morocco, Tanzania, Nepal, India, Niger and Swaziland.
Skills and knowledge
Strong design skills
An interest in international development and sustainable design practices
Strong in areas of planning execution
Problem solving and strategic thinking capabilities
A sensitivity to and knowledge of other cultures
Able to exercise good judgement
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
RIBA Part l or ll qualified (or equivalent)
Software skills such as AutoCAD, Adobe, etc.
Confident and resilient Sensitive and diplomatic
Strong team player with collaborative working style
Displays honesty, integrity and a strong sense of ethics in all decisions and actions
Article 25 has more than 85 projects in 34 countries, making us the largest architectural NGO in the world. Our projects are delivered with in-country partners to ensure that local knowledge and relationships are maximised, and that projects are sustainable.

This position calls for someone with good drive and a flexible work ethic who is looking to get experience in architectural practice.
This position is available to ideally full time candidates for a minimum commitment of 6 months.
