Article 25 is a global reaching humanitarian architecture charity dedicated to building safe and dignified shelter as defined by the UN. We design and build homes, schools and hospitals in poverty stricken areas. Our impact is precise, our buildings sustainable and uniquely designed to meet the needs of the communities they serve. We are currently looking for an Research & Projects Officer to support our team with ongoing projects.

We are looking for a volunteer Project and Research Officer to assist in designing the framework for new projects. You will work with a small team to research and implement potential projects and initiatives which are aligned with the core mission and values of Article 25. You will gain valuable insight into the work of an international development organisation, and have the opportunity to be given responsibility from the very beginning of the project development process.

Skills and knowledge

  • Developing research proposals and formulating reports.

  • Writing project grants for new and local initiatives.

  • Managing relationships between Article 25 and community, private and international agencies.

  • Setting and managing research agenda for stakeholder meetings.

  • Providing administrative and research support.

Candidate requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Public Health, International Development, Urban Planning or related fields.

  • Postgraduate degree strongly preferred.

  • Experience or interest in international development.

  • Excellent research skills.

  • Highly literate with good English language and grammar skills.

  • Willing to take initiative and responsibility for delivering tasks.

  • Flexible and able to respond to tasks quickly and intelligently.

  • Able to work well independently and with a small team whilst managing various deadlines.

  • Strong problem-solving and 'can do' attitude.

This position calls for someone with good drive and a flexible work ethic who is looking to get experience in International Development.

This position is available to full and part time candidates for a minimum commitment of 6 months.
