Peter Williams
Managing Director

Peter is a designer, speaker and leading social entrepreneur. He was appointed Managing Director at Article 25 in 2016. He is also founder and Executive Director of ARCHIVE Global – a NY based non-profit and additionally serves as an Urban Health Expert Adviser at the World Bank. For over 15 years, he has worked on building projects on 5 continents and taught at universities around the world. Peter holds two Masters degrees – in African Studies and Architecture, respectively from the University of Oxford and Columbia University while graduating summa cum laude from the City College of New York. He has received numerous awards for research including the Kinne Fellowship from Columbia University that led him to form ARCHIVE Global. In 2014, Forbes named the organization among the 8 best sustainability ideas on the planet. He has also been a visiting researcher at the UNAIDS Secretariat in South Africa – where he also worked for the World Bank. He was a visiting scholar at the Healthy Infrastructure Research Center at University College London and in 2010, the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control invited him to their Swedish headquarters to assist in drafting a policy around European urban health.
Peter was named among the 22 best emerging social entrepreneurs in the world by Echoing Green and was recognized as one of Britain’s ‘40 under 40 International Development Leaders’ by Devex. Utne Reader named him among the ‘25 visionaries who are changing the world’ – a list that includes WikiLeaks Founder Julian Assange and Nobel Laureate Elinor Ostrom. Peter’s work has been featured on major media networks including BBC, ABC, CBS, NPR, The Guardian and The Wall Street Journal, along with the world’s leading design and health journals. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health, a member of the American Public Health Association and lectures widely on design, health and sustainable development.
