The 29th weekly report on our Gourcy school project paints an encouraging picture. This past week has seen the installation of all classroom doors and windows, the first coat of cement-sand plaster for all three Blocks, a vital shipment of roof and covering supplies – and much more besides. Next week’s projections include assembling the roofing trusses and finishing the concrete blocks for the latrines’ inner walls.
While the walls, doors and windows are set up, the roof is being assembled on the ground in advance. Once the building takes shape, the team will be able to lever the completed roof on top. The level of co-ordination both within the team and with Headquarters has been very impressive – Site Monitoring is confident enough in this pace to ask for a completion date soon.
