We are thrilled to announce our first exciting fundraising Cycle Expedition in Myanmar in November 2017. The unique expedition combines fundraising with a valuable research project on Myanmar’s healthcare infrastructure. Be part of this and support the sustainable development of a country emerging from challenging times!
A group of 20 riders will cycle through Myanmar to carry out field research on the country’s healthcare system, local architecture and building techniques.
From the 4th to the 18th November 2017, 14 days of expedition and 10 days of cycling
Myanmar; from Yangon to Mandalay and back.
A team of international and local architects, engineers, planners and geographers, experts in the field of sustainable, climate adaptive design and healthcare specialists.
Our aim is to share knowledge, support the development of Myanmar’s healthcare system, its infrastructure, to build local capacity and raise money to fund future work of Article 25 in the area.
The expedition includes 500 miles of cycling around the country from Yangon to Mandalay and back, passing via Yangon General Hospital, the site of Article 25’s biggest project. The group will visit various health centres to research key architectural, environmental and structural design issues impacting healthcare in Myanmar.
To be a part of the team you have to cover the cost of the trip, anticipated to be around £1,825 (all inclusive), raise a minimum of £2000 through independent sponsorship and commit £3000 of corporate sponsorship for Article 25.
Article 25 is looking for project partners and sponsors who will benefit from and contribute to this original, one off research expedition to Myanmar, a developing country that has recently opened up to international visitors and investment.
You will find our sponsorship package here.
