Digital Images of Vernacular ArchitectureBrowse the databaseArticle 25 is hoping to compile and create an extensive database of images to help document the traditional architecture and techniques used in developing regions. When disasters occur the reconstruction process is hinderd due to the lack of reliable documentation of what was there before, thus we hope if we can collate images from individuals and other NGO's we will be able to create a useful resource to help assist not just in post-reconstruction work but also in the education and study of the vernacular that is already beginning to disapear through the endemic westernisation process. So...if you are an NGO and think your image library might contain some valuable documentation of the local vernacular of the region where you work, or you are an individual who perhaps have some interesting photographs you would like to share, please click here to find out more about uploading your images onto the database.
